TADA - And so it begins.....

I will absolutely admit that this blog was started as a direct result of a homework assignment from the Ultimate Exposure Modeling Agency training. Even so, I'm going to try to have some fun while I'm doing it and hopefully you will too! I like performing and blogging is another form of performance in my mind.

The particular class that resulted in this assignment covered a number of topics including the importance of having a fashion blog to successfully model in SL. Who'da thunk that? Probably everyone except me - so shoot me, I'm learning!

Another was an assignment to grab an outfit and style, describe it as a group in a very limited time frame. It seems, or maybe I'm assuming, that the assignment was set up to fail. In other words, to teach that styling and writing good fashion descriptions takes more than 5 minutes.

Given all that, we were asked to style the outfit on our own, blog it, describe it, etc. What should be interesting is if my descriptions improve as time goes on. I certainly hope so.

Anyway.....drum roll.....here is my styling of the outfit, etc.

This bright red catsuit by Vero Modero (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Vero%20Modero/197/106/31) was a September group gift. The mesh outfit is highlighted by roushing on the bodice and a large red cloth rose at the left shoulder. All of your curves are highlighted with the contrast between cloth and skin, smooth and roushed with the biggest impact on the bare left legged and red-sheathed right leg. The large bag is also a part of the ensemble, filled with tantalizing views of other Vero Modero items. I will say this one is very well put together, filled and styled quite well.

I chose to add one of my favorite hair styles, Joselyn from Calico Innmann Creations (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Calico%20Kitty/89/113/28), in Blood. I typically wear a Ginger color, but the catsuit needed something a little darker, a little more mysterious. I love her hair, particularly her curly looks. I guess I'm trying to imitate life in SL so given a choice, I pick curly and red! At any rate, I picked this style in order to show the jewelry I chose for the outfit.

I chose jewelry from Always Eclectic in the Ivory Floral collection in Red. (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Award%20Island/214/191/24) In the interest of full disclosure and putting in a shamelessly self-serving plug * grin *, this is jewelry from my store. I choose this set as it contains pearls surrounded by gold, a classically stylish look. I did not want the jewelry or other accessories overpowering the outfit, but instead, to compliment it. The jewelry gently draws the attention to the neck and the large rose.

I added a pair of N-Core shoes (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Heels/197/144/25) CHIC in Noir Intense, or for people like me, black. I love N-Core shoes. While they cost a bit, I've not yet been disappointed in any of their shoes. They look stunning and the alpha is so skillfully done it is undetectable to the nake eye. Scrumptious! With the bare ankle look, again the focus is on the outfit without any accessory overpowering the rest of the styling.

My skin and shape are from [eStyle] called Coral X5. (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Healing%20Waters/160/142/23) When I was attending modeling training at Rodeo Drive Modeling Agency and Training Center, the owner, Dhyanna Writer, helped me tremendously in picking a skin and shape. I would go to her with a demo and she would point out things that were good, bad, different, etc. This is the one I settled for after a couple of months hunting. I love the face on this skin, beautiful but not too much so, friendly, and looks good in sophisticated looks or jeans.

The ensemble is completed by nails and eyes by Eye Candi. I purchased the fat pack of nails (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Juicy%20La%20Jolla/21/156/24) which are tattoo nails. I will admit that prim nails sometimes defeat me. With tattoo nails, I know they'll stay on my nails! The eyes are Moss from the Nature collection. Sadly I could not find them in the store any longer. I get many compliments on them, the 'realness' of them.

I would also like to thank ChouChou for the stunning backdrop for this picture. (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Chouchou/180/163/21) If you haven't been there, GO! It is an amazingly different area for photography. And don't forget to drop a tip so it remains a great place for photographs.

It should be interesting to see how my homework turned out!

See ya soon!
